Always moving forward
What started as a ceramics research operation has grown into one of the world’s leading manufacturers of advanced RF and microwave ceramic components. A rich history of creating the components that help innovate, protect, and move the world ahead.
Dr. Herbert H. Greger establishes Trans-Tech in Rockville, MD, focused on advanced ceramic materials development.
Trans-Tech develops core expertise in microwave ferrite and dielectric ceramic formulations, establishing proprietary materials that will become industry standards. The company relocates to a purpose-built manufacturing facility in Adamstown, Maryland where it operates to this day.
Trans-Tech becomes a wholly-owned subsidiary of Alpha Industries, gaining access to broader RF and semiconductor markets while continuing to operate its Adamstown facility as a specialized ceramics center.
Alpha Industries merges with the wireless division of Conexant Systems to create Skyworks Solutions, Inc. Trans-Tech becomes part of Skyworks’ RF Ceramics business, manufacturing components that go into wireless infrastructure around the world.
Trans-Tech purchases the M/A-COM isolator business, significantly expanding its circulator and isolator portfolio and design engineering capabilities. Skyworks Ireland, Ltd. is formed, adding a European design and engineering center in Cork.
Trans-Tech, Inc. purchases Lark Engineering. The acquisition brings renewed investment and expanded market focus.
Trans-Tech operates from a 140,000-square-foot facility in Adamstown, MD with 24/7 production, a global network of sales and engineering offices, and over 120 employees. The company holds AS9100 and ISO 14001:2015 certifications and serves aerospace, defense, communications, energy, and medical customers worldwide.
